Most distressing from a 'disillusionment' perspective is this leadership example. Mr. B has been on this Planning Commission for 16 years (per K Neumeister). On his watch, after at least one mis-fire, and with literally thousands of hours of volunteer work & citizen input, they & their planners got the County & every municipality in the County to agree on Plan-It Allen based on educating & encouraging contractors, developers & planners to meet the public good & create a sustainable county over the next twenty years (per their statements - a small time frame for developers). Within months of passage their 'leader' proposes a subdivision using every sidestep possible to AVOID public oversight and in violation of EVERY goal and principle adopted in that plan. LEADERSHIP BY EXCEPTION, NOT EXAMPLE. Just because you can do something doesn't make it what you should do...and it certainly isn't what you should do if your true interest is the public trust that has been placed upon you!
Hey Ron, I just want to let you know that I think you did an amazing job at the Planning Commission meeting, and if we can stop this situation, that it would of been greatly due to you and your efforts.
So question is, what do we do in the mean time till they vote. I was thinking bout flooding the offices with letters, but the public recording process is over.
I think if they let this thing pass, that it is going to disillusion a mass amount of citizens, and it is back to the status quo and the environmental groups will once again be deminished and muted. This green movement and comprehensive plan has empowered us. If it is nothing but to wipe our asses with, then it is all just an illusion.
I thought it was a requirement for public leaders to have the capacity for critical thinking and to act upon the peoples best interest and policy. I'm tired of the lies.
Hee Hee, matches are not included, but always a good thing to add to your kit!
I will put one together for you and drop it by your Laf. office sometime.
Well, I haven't been doing the primitive living as much lately, but always good to start fires (actual and metaphorically). i actually have quite a lot of fire making materials collected....if you are in need of a fire by friction kit let me know! I think it would be very cool to do a primitive float trip where one would camp along the way doing up fire and food the oldway.
