About Me:
I moved from Indianapolis to Portland, Oregon four years ago to learn all about green building. Working for an engineering firm committed to sustainable design I wrote over 100 case studies, which was no doubt the best education I could ask for. Not content with that I took a class called Sustainable Building Advisor Program at a local community college, and passing the exam, became a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor. After three years of total immersion in green and sustainable everything in Portland, I returned to Connecticut (my original home), and am now teaching/running that same program at a local community college that is instituting a Center for a Sustainable Future where they also focus on training people for green collar jobs such as PV installation. The Sustainable Building Advisor Program is designed for working professionals in a Friday/Saturday once-a-month, nine-month (Oct. - June) format. I have 18 students including 5 architects, 4 engineers and an assortment of others connected with energy efficiency, operations and education. The enthusiasm, motivation and energy in this classroom is so great it is tangible...every one a budding innovator and ready to green the world!

New Book on Green Building Breakthrough

You can download a copy of a booklet called "engineering a sustainable world" that describes in detail how the engineering firm I worked for in Portland, Oregon designed the first and largest medical/university building in the country to receive a LEED Platinum award: www.ieice.com (scroll down to "New book on green building breakthrough"). There are numerous case studies on the same site as well.

Hello Robyn,
Your doing some amazing work and producing it at some of the most innovative and forebaring communities. You mention having authored and contributed to many case studies. Would you mind posting and contributing some of this content to the site? There is a green construction group, or you could create a group of your own, or post in a concession of discussions on your page, either way you would benefit and help educate many people by sharing such findings, studies, and modules.

If you need help on our end for anything don't hesitate to ask.

Fantastic! If you need any help fully using this site then let me know. Join a couple of the groups....we are getting started with these things in Indiana and our green power and our greener construction techniques groups would be a great place for you to collaborate. We have some of Indiana's early adopters in those groups.

Thanks for joining.
