Profile Information

About Me:
I am the Wabash Riverkeeper and Water Policy Director for the Hoosier Environmental Council. I have been working to build Indiana's environmental movement for almost 15 years now! I am especially interested in strengthening the voice for protection of Indiana's rivers! My husband and I have two lovely daughters. All this keeps us very busy but when we get some spare time we enjoy kayaking as well as raising chickens, gardening, hiking and sewing.

Hi Rae--I'm getting back with you again about the Blueberry Festival. We are starting to organize our green efforts finally--my contact person, who had lost his mother-in-law, actually passed away himself not long after. It was shocking and sad, but I think the Board is ready to get going again and think green. Could we chat on the phone sometime? How would I reach you? Or you could call me at 574-935-4047. Thank you!

Hi Rae,
I'm a sophomore Biology student at IU. I love going out for stuff like that but my friends don't really go out that much so we just stick to standard college practices.

Hi Rae--thanks so much for writing me. You know, my family and I LOVE the Feast. But we missed it this year because--idiots!--we assumed it was in October and didn't check the website. In Plymouth, we've started a little festival along the Yellow River that celebrates pioneer/settler life in our town and it reminds me a little of your festival. Voyageurs walking around not wearing pants---I steer my daughters clear of them! ;-)

I'm excited to hear about your efforts. That's exactly what our goal is here: reduce the footprint as much as we can, realizing that Blueberry is still going to be a big mess! I think in the years to come, though, we can add some education to our efforts and at least keep making people aware.

I would love to talk to you more about this. Perhaps in the next few weeks we could make contact again. And I really appreciate your offer of the recycling bins--we may take you up on that! I still have yet to meet with the Blueberry committee to see what the details are--my contact person there just lost his mother-in-law, so he's a little busy with family matters.

I'm thrilled to be in touch, and I look forward to talking to you more!

Hey Rae,
How have you been? I like this site, hope it takes off.
I like the green drinks idea, I should get someone to create a group similar group/meet up in Fort Wayne.
