a local paper did a short story on rain gardens, and included me and some other residents in the article. this was both a good oppurtunity to spread info about rain gardens, and to give credit to a friend named Ellen for her efforts.

what a view, this lovely old dame, mother earth, weeping rain on astroturf. concrete slabs blot out fertile soil while plastic ego's gripe and toil. away the people go down this path of enlightened destruction, embrace "truth" than die and make room for all the life we have been raping and suffocating. maybe a few can stick around, humbled enough to truly appreciate the simple blessing of a summer storm.

me, Skylyn, Kaipua, and my love Cheri just cleaned out a WHOLE LOT of trash from the rivers, while canoeing! quite fun, although a bit stinky... :P

one cool thing about consistently telling the truth is it forces you to check yourself. unless you already live in a very virtuous and empathetic way you will find yourself having to fess up to some embarrassing and hurtful stuff. so you start to change for the better so telling the truth isn't so difficult... just the regularly practiced act of honesty itself is a great catalyst for positive change.
