$110,000 to non profits for tree inventory and tree plantings.

DNR grants available for urban trees

Applicants may request funds ranging from $2,500 to $15,000. Projects must show an equal match, which can be a mix of cash and in-kind services. All projects must be in an urban area or in an area… Continue

Rocky Mountain Institute

I am sure that many of you are familiar with the Rocky Mountain Institute founded by Hunter Lovins and Amory B. Lovins.

They tackle the tough questions and they prove to those that will listen that IT SAVES MONEY TO CONSERVE. I like these guys because they are clearly correct and they work to make things happen by eliminating obstacles.

The issues they tackle are the big ones. If you have some time then study their very good website. I personally believe that they think this stuff through and… Continue

conservation - the cheapest, easiest, and quickest way to become greener!

I don't seem to hear all of the stories on conservation that I would think that you would. Conserving is something that can be done right away and by everybody.

I know we have all heard about the ghost loads of televisions, xboxes, etc. It is just a shame that all that energy goes to waste.

A 10 year old boy saved monroe county indiana 25k per year. He told them to turn off their computers at night. LOL

It seems like there is more attention to the production end of things than the conservatio… Continue

important website www.350.org

We have all heard about global warming and carbon emissions. Terms like carbon footprint are now part of our vocabulary. But how much carbon can we handle in the atmosphere? Where is the line drawn and what can we do to stay below that line?

That is the sole point of the website www.350.org

I can't help but thinking of how we learned of CFC's damaging the ozone and then we did something about it before it was too late.....imagine if we drug our heels on this is… Continue

Profile Information

About Me:
My wife and I have been encouraging Indiana Outdoor recreation by making easy to plan a trip. This includes easily finding the places to rent you what you need.

As the Internet advances we have been able to add better and better websites they are all linked up from www.IndianaOutfitters.com.

I have always been interested in the environment and how we can all work together to quit trashing it. I started www.AGreenerIndiana.com in an attempt to see if we can all work together to make it easy to figure out how to make Indiana a bit greener.

Up here in Northern Indiana we have terrible solar and poor wind in some areas. People who live in these area should consider social lending as an alterantive to personal investment in wind and solar. I have an idea and domains that I would like to sell (only at my cost) to someone who can be an idea champion for this project. Less than a $100 investment could be worth big to the person who makes this happen. No time for me.

Hi Eric,
We would like some of the Greener Indiana cards to hand out (25-50-100? not sure your mailing limit). We are new to this site and not sure how to contact you. Our business address is 7462 Fishers Station Dr #121 Fishers In 46038. We hope to encourage greener choices for our clients. We find that some clients who claim they want to make better choices actually change their minds when they find out the cost are higher (initially) vs standard material. We hope through sites like yours they will realize the benefits. Thank you.
