That is amazing. We can take comfort in the fact that the insanity is real and very apparent by the pictures. I have thought of one of my uncles many years ago with his garbage disposal. It was mainly a burn pile and trash hole in the back, but for…

About Me:
I was a twenty year resident of Northwest Indiana, Graduated from Purdue Calumet 2005 and moved away to take an engineering job. Last year I opened a renewable energy Company and the more I studied and the more I learned the more I kept asking myself why we are capturing the energy available in the environment.

A Brighter Idea

Last week's coal report from the IEA reported coal production at about 21 million short tons. When you consider we do this every week there is no way you can deny that we need to put the skids on the fossil fuels we are burning.

LED lights have come a long way recently,
I put two and three watt LED's in my house inside and filled the outside fixtures with 6&8 watt LED's. The energy reduction for our house is at about 400 kWh per month. My wife and I were astounded, so doing some basic calcu… Continue

Tales of a roadside garbage picker

There is a one mile stretch of very country road that I have adopted and clean up. It all started with a community group that wanted to clean up a couple hundred acres of forest that was being used as a dumping ground. It is a good walk and gives me time to think about stuff like garbage. What is thrown from car windows is a very interesting commentary on people. This is a very isolated stretch of road and one mile long. IF you are wondering where it is, just look at the sides of the road when y… Continue

My water heater rises in the east.

This is my first Blog, so I hope I am blogging right.

It has been four days of cloudy rainy weather I can tell that the Solar tank temperature is down because I have to turn the handle for the faucet all the way to the left in the shower to get the water hot enough. That means my water heater is running or just about to. It has had a pretty easy life though. It was installed in May and I doubt that it has fired half a dozen times since then. I knew something about what the water heating system… Continue
