The Hoosier Environmental Council, founded in 1983, is Indiana`s largest state-wide environmental organization. We aim to set a new path for Indiana, to encourage practices and policies that dramatically reduce the footprint of industry, commerce and agriculture on the environment. HEC aims to address Indiana’s environmental challenges through education and advocacy. We are guided by science, inspired by the ties between nature and humanity, and led to success through partnerships.

I'm going to recommend AGI to the members of our "Green Task Force" and hope it spreads out across campus. I may actually require participation of my Environmental Conservation class!

I have asked my cousin to join greenerindiana and I believe she will. She has just moved back to FW from Boulder, CO where she was in charge of the county fair being 0% waste! I will make sure she joins and gets back to you on the green festival question!

I would like to see HEC's orgaizational documents and cornerstones listed provided. At minimum its by-laws and mission statement, vision, and purposes.

A detailed history of the organization and its successes and hardships would draw much attention and support.

Also listing its current staff/positions and board members as well as its current programs and activities. Maybe archive your volunteer forms and etc and link them on the group.

Hi! I'm writing an article for Indiana Living Green magazine on Hoosier festivals--how they are reducing their environmental footprint. My own town has the Blueberry Festival, which attempted to go green this past summer, but didn't have a dedicated "green team" to handle the details. I've been asked to chair that committee (gulp!), but I'm excited by the prospects of reducing waste and educating the public. I'd love to talk to people who have any green-festival experience!
